Does Anyone Do This Anymore?

Updated: Sep 14, 2021

We are living in a world of shortcuts and life hacks. You can access anything in a few swipes.

You can order food from any restaurant and have it delivered to your door in less than half an hour instead of cooking, or you can have any form of cosmetic surgery all on credit.

This era has forgotten what Discipline truly means.

What is discipline?

Discipline is a skill set acquired through practicing a code of conduct to achieve a goal.

Why has this happened?

Social media has brainwashed people into thinking they can have what they want instantly without working hard for it.

The issue with this mindset is that real achievements require discipline and an understanding of delayed gratification.

What is delayed gratification?

Delayed gratification is resisting temptation and immediate pleasure with the expectation of earning a more valuable reward in the long term.

It is in training your behaviors and having self-control that gives you true fulfillment in your achievement.

Take a moment to think about this in detail. When was the last time that you were proud of your efforts to accomplish a goal?

It was likely when you achieved a new milestone in your career or education.

Those proud moments required discipline and an understanding of delayed gratification. You were committed to investing your time, physical and mental capacity to accomplish a goal through consistent actions that would take years of effort.

And when you achieved your goal and experienced pride, you learned that your discipline and understanding of delayed gratification is now a skill set.

Moreover, this skill set can grow as you repeat the behavior. Much like when your muscles grow from resistance, your ability to resist short-term satisfaction for the needs of a more significant accomplishment will develop the more you use it.

Discipline and understanding delayed gratification are skill sets required for weight loss.

I know that it's not what you'd like to hear. So instead, we prefer the easy route like using a magic shake or surgery that's detrimental to your health instead of years of a controlled diet plan and challenging workouts. But with discipline and an understanding of delayed gratification, you'll achieve all of your life goals, including finally having your dream body.

I'm here to help you attain your fitness goals. But, yes, it's going to require discipline, and I'll be there with you every step of the way.
